Conversion runs on the IO Tools server using LibreOffice, the same engine behind most open-source document pipelines. It applies the deck's own slide masters, so backgrounds, placeholders, and slide dimensions come through as the file defines them. Uploaded files are converted and deleted immediately; they are never stored or shared.

Unlike our image and text tools, this one has no in-browser mode. Reproducing slide masters and layout needs a real presentation engine, so if the server is unavailable the tool reports that plainly rather than producing a poor imitation.

What Carries Over and What Does Not

No. The PDF is generated as a separate file.

Are files uploaded?
Yes. Reproducing slide layout with real text needs a document engine a browser does not have, so the file is sent to the IO Tools server, converted with LibreOffice, returned, and deleted immediately. It is never stored or shared.

Which formats can I convert?
PowerPoint .pptx, .pptm, .ppsx, .potx, and legacy .ppt, .pps, and .pot, plus OpenDocument .odp and .otp. The file is identified by its actual contents, so a presentation saved under a misleading name still converts correctly.

Do animations and transitions survive?
No. A PDF page is static, so each slide is exported in its final state. This is how every PowerPoint to PDF export works, including PowerPoint's own.

Can I get speaker notes in the PDF?
Not from this tool. It exports the slides. To include notes, use the Notes Pages export inside PowerPoint itself.

Why can layout still change?
The server engine reproduces layout closely, but it is not Microsoft PowerPoint. Fonts not installed on the server are substituted, and complex features such as SmartArt, 3D models, or embedded objects can shift. Check the output before sending it on.
