About The PDF Watermark

PDF Watermark adds a visible text watermark to every page of a PDF and creates a new downloadable copy. It is useful for marking review drafts, internal copies, client proofs, or documents that need a clear ownership or status label before sharing.

The watermark is applied locally in your browser and exported as a separate PDF. A watermark is a visible label, not security or access control.

How to Add a PDF Watermark Online

  1. Choose your PDF file.
  2. Enter the watermark text you want to place on the pages.
  3. Open more options to choose position, rotation, font size, opacity, and color.
  4. Add the watermark and review the summary and preview.
  5. Download the new watermarked PDF copy and check a few pages before sending it.

Choosing Options Correctly

Position:
Center works for a single visible label. Tiled pattern helps when you want repeated labels across each page.

Opacity and size:
Use low opacity for readable documents. Increase size or opacity when the watermark must be prominent.

Common Use Cases

  • Adding labels such as confidential, draft, sample, approved, or internal use to a PDF.
  • Preparing a marked copy of a proposal, report, invoice, contract draft, or training handout.
  • Making shared files easier to identify without editing the original document.

Quick FAQ

Does this change my original PDF?
No. The watermarked PDF is exported as a new file.

Are my PDF pages uploaded?
No. Watermarking is designed to run in the browser.

Is a watermark the same as PDF security?
No. A watermark is a visual mark; it does not prevent copying, editing, screenshots, or removal by determined users.

Why can the watermark look different on unusual PDFs?
Rotated pages, mixed page sizes, scanned pages, and unusual PDF structure can affect placement and appearance.
